ITS BEEN AWHILE NOW.........

So I am in Virginia and have not posted anything for a long time. (I am visiting. My little sister had her gall bladder out and so I came to help her with her new baby who smiles all the time.) This past year flew by quick. We had Rhett and now he is one! Roston is almost done with Kindergarten. I can't believe it. He is reading and he loves the WII. Sometimes I get nervous about the gaming. But anyways Zoe is so big. She is basically learning everything that Roston is, She is reading and everything. Rhett is crawling and taking a few steps. He has stayed a baby for us. Dave graduates in May. We have no idea where we will be. We are enjoying our time in Louisiana. We love the food and the alligators and our Chickens!!

Camping

So last month we went camping during spring break. We were suppose to stay two nights but the first night it got down to the 50's. It was kind of cold for Rhett. he was only two months old. It was nice though because we were near a lake and there was a breeze blowing the whole time. No Mosquitoes ... yah! We forgot our new camping stove we got for easter from wendy, but the turkey bacon was the best!! It turned out so crispy and yummy cooking it on the fire. Zoe was playing in the pond with her boots on and she slipped and couldn't catch herself to get back up. She was drinking up the water and freaking out so I had to jump in and get her. Needless to say I got my tennis shoes wet. Overall it was a very fun trip. We tried to fish but the fish were just not biting. Roston and Zoe at first were kind of freaked out about sleeping in the tent but then they were sad that we were not going to keep sleeping in it. We need to go camping again but with school,work, and church it is hard.

Family

My mom got to come down for 2weeks. It was really nice. My family has not been to Louisiana for 2 years. She taught me how to sew clothes for my kids. I am really excited. Mostly dresses for Zoe. My mom also finished making Rhetts blessing outfit. My dad and my nephews Dylan and Gary came down for a week. It was nice to have family come after the baby.

We went to Reflections of Christ. This is outside the Baton Rouge Temple.

David Rhett Barker

January 28th at 2pm, I went to the doctor and after the doctor checked me she sent me to hospital to have the baby. We were not expecting it at all. I dropped Roston and Zoe to Dave at work while I went to the appionment. When I called Dave to tell him to hurry up and get to the hospital, he did not believe me. By the time I got checked in, papers signed it was 4pm. Wendy got there, then Dave showed up with Roston and Zoe. (The kids were so excited, Roston asked that Monday ,"mom, when is our baby coming?") George came and then Ashley and Paris showed up. The doctor came in at 5pm, broke my water and was there for about 15mins. I had about 3 liters of fluid, and Rhett was trying to stick is hand out. The doctor had to pinch his hand so he wouldn't because if he got his hand out than I would have had to have a c-section. Then Rhett came at 7:02pm. When Roston came in he was so excited he screamed. After the kids left and they took Rhett I told Dave ," I can't believe we have another kid." I was still in shock because everything happened so fast. Rhett was 6'11"and they said 17 3/4 in. He looked exactly like Roston but with dark hair (he had quite a bit).

So after Rhett was born we could not think of a name for him. He had Shadd and Wyatt picked out, but he did not fit either of those names. So we finally picked his name the last day we were there. We named him David Rhett Barker but we are going to call him Rhett. This is a movie after Rhett was born when we asked Roston and Zoe what we should name him. It was cute.

Best Girl and Boy

Roston and Zoe have become really close. They are so cute. Yes they still fight some but they say to each other, "You're my best Friend." or "You're my best girl " "Your my best boy."

We raked some leaves the other day and they played in them.

Cranky babies

Last week they said that we might get snow flurries. I was kind of excited even for snow flurries. I told my friend that I wanted to stay up all night to see if it happens because I like the snow. The last time it snowed in Louisiana was Roston's first Christmas back in 2004. It snowed but did not stick to the ground. In Virginia we always got snow at least once a year. Well Wednesday night I did not sleep well and Dave and I ended up getting up around 5:30 or 6:00 am Thursday morning and for some reason we did not bother to look outside to see if it was snowing, but our friend Rebekah called and Dave's dad, and his mom I think called and told us it was snowing. We looked outside and by then it was coming down hard and it was sticking. So I told Dave lets wake the kids because it could stop and melt and they would have slept right through it. So we got them up around 6ish and they were not happy. But we bundled them all up and went outside. (This was before the sun had come up) Roston did not want to go out in the snow because it kept getting on his face. But we took pictures and they were kind of y and so we went in and had a Johnny Stafford breakfast (So yummy!! Country Ham, Rice, and biscuits.)

Well it kept snowing and around 8am our lights started to flicker. Rebekah called and said turn your heat up just in case we lose power. So we did. By this time the trees were covered with ice and snow. When we went outside you could hear trees ing and falling. Well around 9 am we lost power. The kids and I went out two different times. Dave stayed out the whole time. In the end we ended up not getting our power back on until Sunday Night ,but we got 8 1/2 inches of snow, we got to make a snowman and Roston and Zoe had a fun and Dave had a blast.
